Choice. Curiosity.
Room to be yourself.
The SOMAYARA approach
Begin with what
you notice.
A breath. A point of contact. A small movement that feels possible today.
Somatic Yoga Therapy is a personalized, body-led practice that brings together gentle movement, breath awareness, rest, and attention to what you feel from within. Rather than following a fixed sequence, we explore what you notice and adapt the practice to your needs, energy, and comfort.
You can pause, adjust, rest, or simply observe. Your experience helps guide the practice.

Meet Courtney
Care begins
with listening.
I’m Courtney Thompson, founder of SOMAYARA, a CYA-E-RYT Gold registered yoga teacher and Somatic Yoga Therapy practitioner-in-training.
My relationship with yoga began as a way to feel more connected in my body. SOMAYARA grew from that personal journey and a wish to offer others room to explore their own experience.
My approach brings together trauma-informed yoga, somatic awareness, restorative practices, and an integrative Ayurvedic perspective. I meet the practice with curiosity and a deep respect for each person’s experience.
